I am ...........
I am a lightly melanated mixed race, Black and white, able-bodied human living in the inland Northwest, Spokane, WA. This region is the traditional ancestral unceded territory of the Spokane and First Nations that have and continue to be stewards and protectors of these lands.
I use the pronouns she and her. I am married to a beautiful human who uses she/her and they/them pronouns. We have fur babies and two human babies (one grown, age 24, and one practically grown, age 13, but will always be my babies).
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Masters in Business Administration. The areas I have worked in include nonprofit, philanthropy, consulting, and cannabis operations.
I give time and resources to social justice activities within the communities I reside in.
Yoga Journey
I took my first Yoga class for credit while attending Eastern Washington University. I was a naturally bendy human, and it felt good. At the time, I didn’t see it more than what western culture had marketed it as, a physical fitness class. Over the years, I continued to take Yoga classes as another mode of fitness.
While co-creating a start-up business in a brand new industry, I needed new tools to manage the roller coaster of stress and emotions. I had a tool kit of professional, operational, and coaching best practices, but something was still off.
With yoga instructors’ guidance that embraced all eight limbs, yoga became more than a fitness activity. Yoga is my spiritual practice and critical for my discernment in life and business. I started attending Yoga Teacher Training at Mellow Monkey Yoga in Spokane, WA, in January of 2020. I have since attained my 200-Hr. YTT. I am insured and registered with Yoga Alliance.
I am committed to teaching yoga in a way that allows more humans to add this practice to their life tool kit.
